In Melbourne Tonight

So my experience tonight has indeed confirmed that clubs and lounges are not for me. It's not particularly my cup of tea (if I wanted tea, there were plenty of place in China town that are more civil and welcoming!), as many of the others frqeuenting these areas drink from bottles and glasses filled with intoxicative beverages that are somewhat hard in nature compared to the Coke and Sprite that I stick to.

The parking is also terrible at the late hours of the evening. Clubby, loungey places seem to only kick off at 10-12AM so to get there at a specified time means that's there's no parking in the vicinity of the venue! Argh! On the brightside, I got to use my legs for the first time in the weekend in order to walk all the way across the city. Being a warmer night there were also plenty of people walking around, and I was surprised that how many do stay out on Saturdays in Melbourne. They (I really don't know who they are) say that Melbourne's a quiet town, but if it's quiet, then they can subsidise the extra 10 or so kilometres I drove to find parking.

Finding the place was easy enough I guess, but along the were there were plenty of other bouncers to indicate the many lounges that are scattered across the city centre. Because I am not of the clubbing persuasion, I was startled as to the size of the protectors of the lounging domain. Very big and bulky these guys, so I thought I should be nice to them. I think my body mass equates to their forearm. Well, maybe.

The place was located underneath some buildings, kinda like the ones you see on TV shows where the mafia hang out, and it was pretty average I'd have to say. Even if I did manage to like getting jiggy wit' it I would suggest to these guys to update the lighting! I guess the lack of lighting helps the proverbial 'smashed' people not remember anyone or anything they'd danced with.

And play some better music next time! Even for people like me! If I'm not in the mood to dance, then why not entice me with some enticing music. Typical doof doof stuff isn't gonna get me to dance. Gee, my friends couldn't even get me to dance!

So thus ended a night of unspecialness. Apart from revving up my car so that it at least grumbled on the way back home, this drinky, loungey, dancey, clubby stuff should just stay with those that are willing and capable. I think most of the persons livers weren't actually capable of taking in the amount of the happy drinks, but hey, I bet they were more than willing.
